Lunations or Moon Phases

The lunations are a good example of the cyclic nature of existence as are the four seasons. The process of birth, growth, decay, and new beginnings is an endless one giving us plenty of opportunities to start anew if you dare to look up in the sky and observe the different phases of the Moon in relation to the Sun.

New Moon

The Moon is wedding the Sun; it is again receiving new light from the Sun. So, the new moon is the perfect time to make the most of this impulsive energy and start something new in your life. This is the moment to plant "seeds of intentions." Intentions come from within; the Universe invites you to go deep within yourself (soul) and visualize or jot down what you want to accomplish during this new moon cycle.

Crescent Moon Phase

During this phase, there is a struggle to overcome the inertia of the past; there is resistance, so it is necessary to use the impulse felt at the new moon phase so that the new dreams can come true.

First Quarter Moon Phase

This is the moment when action is needed in order to anchor the vision you had during the first phase and turn it into reality. Without the action, nothing will manifest.

Gibbous Moon

The Moon's size is increasing; it is almost full; it is getting ready to receive the maximum light from the Sun.

You are getting ready to be illuminated, to be enlightened.

Full Moon

At this time the goddess of the night is shedding much emotional light onto our lives. The Full Moon phase is all about illumination, revelation, awareness, and culmination.

Since the Moon is opposing the Sun, the universe invites you to find balance in your life. The balance is achieved through your interpersonal relationships. The questions to ponder are:

What is the other reflecting upon you?

What do you see in the other that belongs to you?

What do you see in the other that you dislike in yourself?

If you feel emotionally overwhelmed, please do not sweep your feelings under the rug, just embrace them, paint them, write about them, dance them out of your body, challenge them, creatively express what you feel deep inside your soul.

Honoring the Moon is honoring your emotions, your moods. The Moon reflects the energy of the Sun and during this particular Moon phase you are given the opportunity to reflect upon how well you handle our own inner conflicts.

Disseminating Moon Phase

The Moon is still full. At this point, you feel like sharing your light, the message you received when the Moon was reflecting the light of the Sun.

Last Quarter Moon Phase

You grew in awareness so now you must take the time to revise your outworn attitudes and limiting beliefs. Journal-writing will allow you the possibility to delve into your own inner wisdom.

Balsamic Moon also called the Dark of the Moon

This is a very important phase in which you can experience the conscious process of letting go of the past, or of any old beliefs that not longer work in your life. It is necessary to release them in order to begin the cycle again. Pay attention to your dreams and allow yourself to do some inner work. The flow of energy gives way for you to purify, heal, regenerate and get ready to be reborn.

When you decide to tune into the lunar cycles in order to make some important decisions, you will feel a special ease and flowing of cosmic energy backing you up on your personal endeavors.
